Our Story

How it started

In 2017, Lotte moved from Denmark to Dubai with her husband and two small children. Their new house, with its open floor plan, tile floors and concrete walls, was full of echo. She searched for acoustic products that would calm the house without spoiling the interior, and found none. So she founded MUTE to make them herself. The first test was her own staircase: two large MUTE Pictures took the echo away.

From homes to projects

We launched MUTE online in 2020, and the team has grown every year since. Among the people behind MUTE today are Sunil, Satnam, Kratika, Qais and Dilawar. What began as acoustic art for homes became a full range: felt, wood and fabric panels, ceiling systems, soundproofing, and office pods and rooms.

Where we are today

MUTE is now a team of more than 25 people in Jebel Ali, Dubai. We design, manufacture and install everything ourselves, with our own installation team, not subcontractors. Our acoustic engineers measure a space before and after, so the result is proven, not promised. Every week we ship around 42 products to homes, offices and projects for architects, fit-out contractors and companies across the UAE and the GCC.

Now in Saudi Arabia

In 2026 we opened MUTE in Riyadh, so projects in Saudi Arabia get the same team, the same products and local support.
